Marvin Thomas Thompson, 68, of Staunton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Thompson was born in Virginia on July 12, 1957, a son of the late Mary Dihl and Samuel Benson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his step-father, Jake Dihl; two brothers, Earl and Jamie Benson; and grandparents, Elmer and Mary Taylor and William and Nettie Newlan.

Surviving, are two brothers, George "Pete" Benson and his wife, Susie, and Samuel "Bo" Benson; a step-sister, Tracy Stroop; a niece, Tiffany Sobszak; and special friend, Larry Dice.

There will be a family gathering at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
