Marvin Mitchell Robertson, Sr., 81, husband of Nealie Robertson of 127 Swisher Road, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

Mr. Robertson was born on October 7, 1937 in Montebello, Virginia, the son of the late William Ira and Bessie Saphronia (Snead) Robertson.

Marvin was a member of New Horizons Church of God. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and animals. Marvin was a family man who enjoyed playing jokes and was a storyteller who had a story for everything.

In addition to his wife of thirty-one years, he is survived by his children, Angela Dawn Robertson, Gary Dale Robertson, and Marvin "Mitchell" Robertson, Jr.; step-children, Elbert Graham, Jr., Tammy McWhorter, Vickie Ellinger, and Carnetha VanBelkum; four sisters, Audray Evon Hite, Paula Maxine Lang, Patricia Ann Martin, and Phyllis Grove; two step-daughters, Debra Sue Jordan and Theresa Ann Heiner; twenty-one grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Celebration of life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lewis Knight.

Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Jon Estes, Frank Thacker, Nelson Shiplette, Jesse Graham, Elbert Graham, Jr., and Marvin Robertson, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Vanbelkum, Cody Vanbelkum, and Jaden Rose.

Instead of sending flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to New Horizons Church of God, P.O. Box 646, Verona, Virginia 24482.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
