Obituary

Marvin Lee “Bucky” Miller, 77, of Staunton, went to his heavenly home, Friday, June 5, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Bucky was born on March 14, 1949 to Marvin and Mary Miller, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his beloved wife Barbara Miller, whom he was married to for 39 years; a sister, Frances Miller and two brothers, Donald and Johnny Miller.

Surviving is his daughter, Donna Lotts and her husband David of Staunton; two granddaughters, Bethany Lotts of Colorado and Sara Lotts and her fiancé Madison Trippeer of Staunton; his great-grandchildren, “whom he adored” Sophia, Harley, Xion, and Lily; and his former wife and caregiver, Lorena Gibson.

Bucky was employed at Delmar’s Body Shop in Staunton for 30 years. He had a love for cars, especially his classic 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass, that he and Barbara took (on the parkway) from Waynesboro to Tennessee. He loved riding the parkway, going to car shows with friends, and was a collector of Staunton memorabilia and anything he thought was collectible.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at his daughter’s residence, 111 Boddington Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Dan Garber.

Burial will follow in the Stonewall United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Sprouse, Aaron Cross, Jeff Knott, Todd Fitzgerald, Randy Mawyer, and Keith Shuck.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. Cirenza and his staff at the University of Virginia Cancer Center of Augusta and the staff of the Emily Couric Cancer Center in Charlottesville and Hospice of the Shenandoah in Fishersville, also thanks to special friends who helped out during Bucky’s illness, Randy and Teresa Mawyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Bucky’s memory, to the Augusta Health Foundation c/o Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, Virginia 22939 or an area Food Bank.
