Marie Veronica (Flitcroft) Wilkinson, 86, wife of Brendan Michael Wilkinson of Staunton passed away Monday, February 24, 2014.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born November 14, 1927 in England and immigrated with her family, to the United States in 1967.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony and her daughter, Anita; her two sisters, Doreen and Nora; and her brother, Alan.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother and teacher. She loved flowers, gardening, embroidering, camping and traveling the world in her retirement but most of all she loved the company of her family and friends. A quick smile, warm hugs and a wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 64 years, are two sons, Paul B. Wilkinson and wife Mary of Bumpass, and Bryan J. Wilkinson and wife Connie of Salem; a sister, Jean F. Smith of Queensland, Australia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Father Joe Wamala. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
