Mrs. Marguerite (Williams) White, 82, of Staunton went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 24, 2012.
Marguerite was born May 30, 1929 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Robert Frank and Lelia (Taylor) Williams.
She was a retired Employee of Western State Hospital.
Mrs. White was a member of Mt. Marine Baptist Church, where she was the pianist and an usher. She was very dedicated to her church and loved being with her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by six brothers, five sisters and a grandchild, Carl Eugene White, Jr.
Surviving are five sons, Dennis White of Staunton; Carl White and his wife, Lila of Churchville; Robert, Alvin, and James White all of Staunton; a daughter, Linda (White) Diggs and her husband, Glen of Staunton; three sisters, Julia Patterson of Fishersville; Lillian Brooks of Waynesboro; Arizona White of Staunton; seven grandchildren and seven great grand-grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Mt. Marine Baptist Church, 31 Mt. Marine Lane, Fishersville by Rev. Charles Brown and Rev. Ralph Williams.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be David Bolden, Samuel, Jerry, and Richard Williams, Purcell Randolph, and John Brooks.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Linda Diggs, 218 Hamrick Street, Staunton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
