Margaret Bernice (Wine) Landes, 94, widow of Ernest Russell Landes, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Landes was born on April 17, 1923 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Jesse Barth J.B. Wine and Stella (Landes) Wine.

Bernice was a lifetime active member of Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a homemaker who showed her love daily to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jo B.J. Rohr; a brother, Winston Wine, Sr.; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte (Wine) Harman and Mrs. Maxine (Wine) Hawkins.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest R. Ernie Landes, II, and his wife Debbie of Verona, and Dennis L. Landes and his wife Judy of Fort Defiance; a daughter, Carol Myers and her husband Glen of Weyers Cave; a son-in-law, Doug Rohr of Verona; a sister, Ellen Huffman and her husband Melvin of Mount Sidney; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great granddaughters; a step-grandchild; four step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Mark Briehl.

Burial will be private in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary and other times at the home of her children.
