Margaret Lucinda (Hunter) Meeks, 83, of Staunton passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Meeks was born on March 3, 1934 in Craigsville, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Nadine (Beverage) Hunter.
Margaret was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, was employed as a Registered Nurse with Kings Daughters Hospital and later retired from Western State Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meeks was preceded in death by three siblings, Bill Hunter, Jack Hunter, and Eddie Hunter.
Surviving are three sons, Tim Meeks and his wife Sharon of Staunton, Terry Meeks and his wife Donna of Mechanicsville, and Mark Meeks of Staunton; seven grandchildren, Ashley Fann and husband Brian, Katy Goodman and husband Micha, Miriam Meeks, Bryan Meeks and wife Emily, Chris Meeks and wife Vikki, Hannah Leber and husband Mike, and Elizabeth Meeks; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry C. Hunter of Churchville; and a sister, Susie McDowell of Perrysburg, Ohio; and a special friend, Zoe Maynard.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Micha Goodman.
A private burial will take place in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the ICU staff at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
