Margaret Willowmae (Kier) Mosby, 87, widow of Preston Bill Mosby
formerly of Hall Street passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Mosby was born on April 18, 1928 in Staunton, a daughter of the
late Luther Henry and Irene Rose (Martin) Kier.
Margaret was a life member of Augusta Street United Methodist Church. She retired from the Loyalton of Staunton where she had been employed as an executive housekeeper for thirty-one years. Mrs. Mosby graduated from the former Booker T. Washington High School and was a passionate member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary Post #7814 for over twenty-four years where she held the office of Treasurer till 2013.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mosby was preceded in death by four brothers, Martin, Paige, Sr., William and Eugene Kier; three sisters, Kathleen, Camelia and Lilly; three brothers-in-law; mother-in-law, Minnie Mosby; two step-daughters and a stepson.
Mrs. Mosby was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving is her devoted son, Kevin Lewis of Staunton; five grandchildren, Jay P. Lewis, Kevin Ric Lewis, II, Kai Rhodes, Candice Block and Whitney Harris; two sisters-in-law, Ophelia Kier and Della Mosby; a special nephew, Elvis Edward Haston, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor John Benson.
