Margaret Ellen (Nuckols) Hurst, 77, wife of Coda V. Hurst, Jr. of 609 Ritchie Blvd. passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Hurst was born on January 3, 1936 in Wythe County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Claude L. and Hazel M. (Arnold) Nuckols.
Margaret was of the Pentecostal faith and retired in 1995 from Western State Hospital after 28 years of service. She loved her family, her home and she enjoyed reading and doll collecting.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Nuckols and James F. Nuckols and a sister, Mary Dumford-Poling.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 54 years is a son, Jeffrey V. Hurst and wife Donna of Verona; three daughters, Pamela H. Duggins of Farmville, Robin E. Williams and husband Eddie of Spotsylvania County and Karen H. Cox and husband Steven of Waynesboro; two brothers, Claude C. Nuckols and David E. Nuckols both of Dublin; three sisters, Pearl M. Arnold of Wytheville, Frances N. Bruce of Dublin and Marie N. Hale of Rhiner; five grandchildren, Jason Williams and wife Jill, Justin Williams, Joshua Propst, Bryan Runion and Ryan Ellen Hurst and one great grandchild, Addyson Williams.
A Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Middle River Church of the Brethren by Pastor David Lee Ball.
Burial will be private in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and Jerry Runion and Mark Propst.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the residence.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
