STAUNTON
Margaret Hevener (Beach) Wikel, 62, wife of James Robert Bobby Wikel, Jr. of Staunton died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Augusta Health surrounded by her family.
She was born December 13, 1947, in Staunton, the daughter of the late Mary Jones Beach and Dabney Snead Beach. She retired in 2001 after 25 years as office manager of the physical plant at Mary Baldwin College. She also worked part-time as a receptionist at People Places, Inc.
She was an animal lover, enjoyed raising kittens, shopping and visiting the beach. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
In addition to her husband of 37 years, she is survived two children, John William Glover and wife, Amanda, and Missy Glover Berry and husband, Randy; a step-son, Derril Lee Wikel and girlfriend, Brenda Kay Cason; five grandchildren, Amber Carrie McNeil, Michael Scott McClear, Morgan Belinda Wikel, Rachel Nichole Glover, and Jacob Benjamin Glover and two great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010. The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, or the American Cancer Society, 1920 H Medical Ave, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton.
