Margaret Fay Goff passed away peacefully at her home in Lyndhurst, Virginia on Friday, August 14, 2026.

Fay was born the daughter of John Raymond Kirby and Talcie Jane Standridge Kirby on March 6, 1939 in Greenville, South Carolina. She was the youngest of 13 children.

Fay attended and graduated from Brooklyn Park High in Brooklyn, Maryland from 1953 until 1957. She also completed a college business and accounting program.

She married Alton A. Goff of Cowan, Tennessee in Baltimore, Maryland on July 28, 1960. Fay met John at the NCO club.

While her husband John served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, Fay gave birth to three sons and they lived in Germany, Texas, Hawaii, Florida, and Maryland.

Fay finished her accounting career at Windermere Information Technology in Annapolis, Maryland and retired in 2006.

Fay was proceeded in death by her grandsons Bradley Wayne Goff and Michael Goff Jr.

Fay is survived by her caregiver and daughter in law Lisa Fitzgerald and fiancé Donald Bryant of Lyndhurst. Her oldest son John Goff and wife Emma Goff of Maryland. Her middle son Michael Goff of Virginia. Her youngest son Bruce Goff and wife Cecilia Goff of Maryland. Her granddaughter Jacqueline Neubauer and husband James Neubauer and son Leo. Her grandson Christopher Goff and fiancé Kaitlyn Ludlum. Her granddaughter Kaycee Wolfshsheimer and husband Glenn Bub Wolfsheimer and three children Remy, Jaemyn, and Delaney. Her granddaughter Lacey Goff and boyfriend Nick Panoni. And her grandson Andrew Goff.

Her ashes will be spread at Carolina Beach in North Carolina where Fay most enjoyed her vacations with her family.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
