Margaret Ann (Cline) Cox, 91, widow of William Douglas Cox, formerly of Spring Hill Road, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Brookdale Senior Living in Staunton.

She was born on January 21, 1927, in Augusta County, daughter of the late John J. and Lena (Burgess) Cline.

Mrs. Cox was a lifetime member of Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church, where in earlier years, she was very active in the music of the church and served as the church organist for many years. Prior to retiring in 1986, Mrs. Cox was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation for 33 years, in a secretarial position.

In addition to her husband of 67 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby N. Cline and his wife Ruth.

She is survived by her son, Michael D. Cox and his wife Tammy of Mt. Sidney; a brother, Earl Cline and his wife, Jo of Mt. Solon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Howard Ratcliff.

The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the residence of Mrs. Coxs son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tammy Cox, 59 Wine Hollow Lane, Mt. Sidney, Virginia.

Interment will be private in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the General Fund of Pleasant View Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2733 Spring Hill Road, Staunton, Virginia 24401.
