Margaret Ann (Black) Craig's Obituary

Margaret Ann (Black) Craig, 82, widow of Harold Preston Craig formerly of Stuarts Draft, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

Mrs. Craig was born in Augusta County on November 27, 1930, a daughter of the late Roy and Ruby (Coffey) Black.

Margaret was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. She worked for Augusta County School System in food service and was a caregiver to many. She also enjoyed helping at Grandmothers House We Go. She was also a member of the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad Auxiliary and the Stuarts Draft VFW Post #9339 Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by a brother, Sherwood H. Black.

Mrs. Craig was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda F. Harris and her husband John M., Sr. of Staunton and Patricia Kay Craig and Kristi Sherwood of Stuarts Draft; a grandson, John M. Harris, Jr. and his wife Karen; a special sister-in-law, Mary Black of Stuarts Draft; and her special pet dog Max.

A celebration of life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church by Rev. Sarah D. Locke.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Active pallbearers will be Hal Christensen, John Showalter, Tim Dameron, Bruce Frank, John Harris, John Harris, Jr., Bob Puffenberger, Kathy Reynolds and Karen Blackwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Auxiliaries of the VFW and the Rescue Squad.

It is suggested those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville VA 22901.

Our family extends a special thank you to the Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care, kindness and love given to our Mom during her illness.
