Mareta H. Marshall
SWOOPE:
Ataune Mareta (Hammer) Marshall, 84, widow of the late Ivan Nathaniel Marshall, of 225 McBrydge Drive, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mrs. Marshall was born May 23, 1929, in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late Jesse E. and Rosa Dean Hammer.
Mareta was a member of Victory Worship Center. She was a great woman of faith and a Godly example to her family and others around her. She enjoyed traveling, eating out, working with flowers and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents and her husband of nearly 66 years, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Bosserman and Holly Newlen; five brothers, Wampler, John, Bernard, Rodney and Owen Hammer; three sisters, Janet Roach, Rosalie Pryce, and Doris Ruth Helfrich.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye M. Bosserman and husband Jerry; a son Darrell K. Marshall and his wife Traci all of Swoope; three sisters, Jetta Raynes and Margie Mayes of Grottoes, and Wanda Comer of Elkton; six brothers, Roland of Waynesboro, Mensel, Douglas, Larry and Randy all of Elkton and William Hammer of Shenandoah; five grandchildren, Tony Bosserman, Julie Coyner and her husband Brian, Brian, Brett, and Brooke Marshall; five great-grandchildren, Hannah and Abigail Bosserman, Nathan Newlen and his wife Alicia, Jeremy Newlen, Izabelle and one great-great grandchild, Bryleigh Newlen.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Victory Worship Center by Pastor Ray Eppard.
Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Julie Coyner, 48 Ruger Lane in Swoope.
