Mamie Elizabeth
(Hays) Lasher
September 2, 1921 – January 30, 2025
Mamie Elizabeth (Hays) Lasher, 103, widow of Frank L. Lasher, of Craigsville, went home to her Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at River Edge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Waynesboro.
Mrs. Lasher was born in Staunton, Virginia on September 2, 1921, the daughter of the late Arthur Hays and Ida (Liptrap) Hays.
Mamie was a charter member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Craigsville and previously worked at the Craigsville School Library, was secretary to the President of Lee High Portland Cement Company, and a secretary of Stillwater in Goshen. She was on the Board of the Augusta County Library.
Mrs. Lasher was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and her husband of 73 years, Mrs. Lasher was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey R. Lasher; a daughter, Nancy Faye (Lasher) Flynn; a grandson, Eric Flynn; three brothers, Dennis, Herman, Charlie Hays; and two sisters, Julia and Frances.
Surviving, are her five grandchildren, Jeffrey Dean Lasher, Jonathan Flynn, Jason Flynn, Joel Lasher, and Kelsey Lasher; and three great-grandchildren Aidan Flynn, Olivia Flynn and Katie Lasher.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Community Church of Faith (St. Paul's United Methodist Church) in Craigsville by Pastor Mike Herring. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Craigsville Community Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Flynn, Jason Flynn, Joel Lasher, and Thomas Lee.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
