Madeline (Simmons) Ergenbright, 94, widow of Harold B. Ergenbright, Sr. of 724 Selma Blvd. passed away peacefully at her home on September 27, 2012.
rs. Ergenbright was born July 31, 1918 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Ettie Belle (Myers) Simmons.
Mrs. Ergenbright was a member of Central United Methodist Church and had worked as an Aide in Kings Daughters Hospital and had retired from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. She loved to read and enjoyed painting.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded
in death by a son, Harold B. Ergenbright, Jr. and two brothers, Melvin H. Simmons, Carl V. Simmons and a sister, Lelia Myers.
Surviving are a son, Fred A. Ergenbright and his wife, Patricia W. of Lakeland, FL; two daughters, Sandra E. Goodwin and her husband Vernon of Chesterfield and Ettie Jo Bearden and her husband Rev. William Bill of Waynesboro; a daughter-in-law, Donna Ergenbright of Staunton; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Central United Methodist Church by Rev. William Bill Bearden.
Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service.
