Lynn Elwood Griffin, Sr., 79, husband of Jane Griffin of 303 Chapel Road, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Griffin was born on November 13, 1935, in Augusta County, a son of the late Herbert Kenton and Hazel (Fink) Griffin.

Lynn retired from Westinghouse now McQuay International in 1998 after 43 years as a Machinist. Mr. Griffin was a member of Jerusalem Chapel Church where he was a Trustee and a Board member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie Griffin, Herbert Hubbie Griffin, and Joe Griffin; and a sister, Phyllis June Griffin.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Lynn is survived by two sons, Lynn Elwood Woody Griffin, Jr. and his wife Carol and Lawrence Boyd Nat Griffin all of Churchville; two daughters, Lois Anne (Griffin) Bunn and husband Barrie of Troutville and Christy (Griffin) Huff and husband Larry of Churchville; four brothers, Elden A. Griffin of Churchville, Fred C. Ted Griffin of Staunton, Granville G. Tom Griffin of McDowell, and Jack S. Griffin of Churchville; two sisters, Wilma Brown of Staunton, and Opal Goble of Stuarts Draft; eight grandchildren, Jessica Thompson, Michele Eavey, Jason S. Armstrong, Megan Griffin, Devin Bunn, Justin Bunn, Evan Huff, and Aaron Huff; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Carter, Dylynn Thompson, Elijah McKinnell, Risa Eavey, Liam Eavey, and Kinzley Bunn; a brother-in-law, Steve Jordan of Churchville, his special pet cat, Hunter and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

All services will be private.

The family will receive friends anytime at the residence.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
