Obituary

Lyle Linwood Harlow, 80, husband of Ann R. Harlow of 107 Lyles Road, flew away to heaven on his fathers birthday, Thursday, February 2, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Harlow was born on June 24, 1936 in Augusta County, Virginia, a son of the late Paul T.S. and Antha Virginia (Fox) Harlow.
Lyle was an active and faithful member of Old Providence A.R.P. Church where he served on the church session, was a vice-moderator, and served on the cemetery committee. Mr. Harlow retired in 2001 after 44 years of service from the Virginia Tech McCormicks Farm, in Steeles Tavern, as a research farmer, he was a member of the Spottswood-Raphine Ruritan Club, coached little league baseball, and was a lifelong farmer. Lyle will be remembered by his family as a Godly man who loved his Lord and his family. We will miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry T. Harlow and William B. Harlow; two sisters, Phyllis H. Campbell and Catherine H. Lowry.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years are three daughters, Diane H. Poole and her husband Billy, and Robyn H. Tuck and her husband Tracy both of Bedford County, and Sandra H. Lough and her husband Jeff of Upper Tract, West Virginia; a brother, Donnie L. Harlow of Spottswood; four sisters, Blanche H. Cash of Fairfield, Polly H. Collier and her husband Harold of Lees Summit, Missouri, Edith E. Harlow of Raphine, and Larry B. Harlow of Richmond; four grandchildren, Kelli T. Wray and her husband Eric, Levi K. Poole, Hannah E. Poole, and Rachel A. Tuck; two great-grandchildren, RayLeigh K. Hawkins and Sydney S. Wray; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial service will be conducted 12:00 noon, Monday, February 6, 2017 in the Old Providence A.R.P. Church by Rev. Bill Harris and Mitchell Sutton.
The family will receive friends following the service in Providence Hall.
A private family graveside service will be conducted in the Old Providence A.R.P. Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Scott Earhart, Jerry Arehart, Frank Pat Patterson, Bruce Holden, Ricky Stogdale, David Fiske, and Eric Earhart.
The family would like to express a special Thank You to Dr. Rob Marsh, Faye Taylor, Gail Brown, Tina Crawford, Kim Craig, and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, for the wonderful care given to Mr. Harlow during his illness along with the support and love shown by Old Providence Church and the community during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Old Providence A.R.P. Church Cemetery, 1005 Spottswood Road, Spottswood, Virginia 24475 or a charity of ones choice.
