Luvenia Tennie (Campbell) Stokes, 81, widow of Arthur Stokes of 413 Estaline Valley Road passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 in the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Stokes was born on March 30, 1934 in Goshen, a daughter of the late John Brooks and Martha Mae (Nelson) Campbell.
Tennie was a member of the Joyful Sound Church and was retired from
Stillwater Mills. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crossword puzzles and working in her flower gardens.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by a sister, Mamie Mae Melton.
Survivors include two sons, Richard E. Ricky Stokes and his fiance Linda Graham of Craigsville and Johnny Wayne Stokes and his wife Tabatha of New Hope; three daughters, Martha Ann Campbell of Craigsville, Debra J. Pace of Natural Bridge Station and Karen S. Spencer and her husband Tom of Churchville; a brother, Johnny A. Campbell and his wife Thelma of Goshen; a sister, Sylvia Jean Sprouse of Craigsville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 in the Craigsville Cemetery by Pastor John M. Ward.
