LuDean (Wingo) Withers, 87, widow of John Cure Withers, formerly of Mt. Solon, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Brightview at Baldwin Park.
Mrs. Withers was born on May 5, 1928 in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late William Wallace and Erin (Reid) Wingo.
LuDean was a member of Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was retired from Augusta County Schools as an Art Teacher. She enjoyed art and art education.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Withers was preceded in death by a sister, Erin Girdler.
Mrs. Withers was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Dell W. Taylor and her husband Ken, Sr. of Natural Bridge; two sons, John W. Withers and his wife Diane of Swoope and Dean W. Withers and his wife Kim of Harrisonburg; seven grandchildren, Jason Withers and his wife Krista, Sarah Nicholas and her husband Evan, Courtney Fitzgerald, Ashley Lamay and her husband Daniel, Meredith Withers and her husband Kyle Allen, Jeremy Withers and Ken Taylor, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, John Fitzgerald, Emma Lamay, Finnley Allen and Asher Nicholas.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Mossy Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mt. Solon by Pastor Glenn Coleman.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
