Lucille Elizabeth Lucy (Stoner) Wiseman, 82, wife of Samuel William Bill Wiseman, of 299 Skyview Circle, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 in the Augusta Medical Center.
Mrs. Wiseman was born October 24, 1926 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Marvin and Ruth (Mohler) Stoner.
Lucille will be remembered as a great wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved cooking for her family, especially breads, cakes and pies. She enjoyed many hours of shopping, as well talking with friends and family and a genuine concern for all those she came in contact with. Lucille was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church, a member of the Rebekah Sunday School Class, the WMU night circle and the Baptismal Committee. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the Verona Food Pantry.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wiseman was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Stoner. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 60 years, are two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie L. McQuain and her husband Dr. Gary D. McQuain of Staunton and Cindy S. Kerr and her husband Logan M. Kerr of Cordova, MD; two grandsons, Robert W. McQuain and his wife Kathy and Ryan L. Kerr; a special great-granddaughter, Jackie K. McQuain; and two step-grandchildren, Emily R. Corbman and Matthew M. Kerr.
A Celebration of Lucilles life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in Memorial Baptist Church by Pastor Temple D. Myers. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall or at the residence at other times.
Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.
