Lucille H. Knight
VERONA:
Lucille Luc (Harris) Knight, 86, widow of Daley Alfred Squeaky Knight, of 138 Kendrick Avenue, Verona passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the University of Virginia Hospital.
Mrs. Knight was born in Augusta County on April 24, 1922 a daughter of the late Emma Jane Harris.
Luc was retired from the Stillwater Worsted Mills in Augusta Springs with over 25 years of service.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde E. Harris and Russell Eugene Harris.
Survivors include four sons and a daughter-in-law, Ernest Pete Harris and his companion Caroll Moran of Staunton, Gary P. Knight and his companion Peggy Welcher of Verona, Larry L. Knight and his wife Gay of Crimora, Steve L. Knight and his companion Cathy Sprouse of Verona; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley C. Glover and her husband Martin of Craigsville, Gloria M. Wilson and her husband Richard of Swoope and Lucilles caregiver Jane A. McDaniel and her husband Jeff of Verona. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and her very special pet dog Pretty Girl Emma
A celebration of Lucilles life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Harold Wade.
Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009
in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton.
Active pallbearers will be Eugene Stokes, Frankie Sours, Randy Berry, Steve Argenbright, Richard Fox and Harry Harris.
It is suggested that those desiring to make memorial donations to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060 and Hospice of the Shenandoah 64 Sports Medicine Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton are in charge of her arrangements.
