Ltc Warren Clifton Eagan's Obituary

LTC Warren Clifton Clif Eagan, U.S. Army, Retired, 90, husband of Colleen (McConnell) Eagan of 55 Villa View Drive, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Eagan was born on October 21, 1923 in Acmar, Alabama, a coal mining community near Birmingham, Alabama, the son of the late Henry and Lessie (Fulmer) Eagan.
Mr. Eagan entered the United States Army in 1943 as a private and retired in 1967 as a Lt. Colonel (Regular Army). He was a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, as well as several service schools. His career covered tours of duty in Europe, Asia and Central America. He received the U.S. Armys commendation medal three times. Following his Army retirement, Mr. Eagan was employed by the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL where he served as the Assistant Director of Human Resources. He retired from the University in 1977. He was a member of the Gainesville First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and Clerk of Session. He later moved his membership to the Staunton First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Eagan enjoyed traveling and playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann (Eagan) Fout.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years; is a daughter, Patricia Hill of Denver, CO; two step-sons, Stephen V. Heller of Oak Park, IL; and Eric A. Heller of Sydney, Australia; a brother, Ray Eagan of Hinesville, GA; and eight step grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 in Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Richard Dietrich.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial and private graveside services with full military rites will be held at a later date in Arlington Nation Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
