Obituary

Loyde Vaiden "Moose" Clatterbaugh, 86, husband of Joyce Marie (Brown) Clatterbaugh, formerly of Hotchkiss Road, Churchville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at River Edge Rehab and Nursing in Waynesboro.

Mr. Clatterbaugh was born in Augusta County, Virginia on June 21, 1938, a son of the late William E. Clatterbaugh and Clara Callison.

Vaiden was a proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard and a dedicated member of the Moscow Church of the Brethren. After 29 years of service, he retired from Dupont, where he fondly remembered his time on the company's travel softball team. In his younger years, Vaiden enjoyed playing basketball and spending time outdoors and hunting with his son. He also loved watching sports, classic TV shows, and, above all, cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Clatterbaugh was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Scott "Danny" Clatterbaugh; and a brother, Donald Ferrett.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 62 years, are two grandchildren, Micaela Mullins and her husband, Jonathan and Caleb Clatterbaugh; and three great-grandchildren, Brady, Griffin, and Kyla Mullins. Vaiden cherished his neighbors and friends and loved his Brown family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Pastor Darren Howdyshell.
