Louise (Mitchell) Roadcap's Obituary

Louise (Mitchell) Roadcap, 87, widow of George Paul Roadcap, formerly of Valley View Drive, Mount Sidney, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
Mrs. Roadcap was born on April 9, 1930 in Martinsville, Virginia, a daughter of the late George and Manilla (Stovall) Mitchell.
Louise was a member of Verona United Methodist Church, and retired after twenty-one years of service from Kings Daughters Hospital / Augusta Health as a file clerk in the x-ray department. She was a very proud homemaker, enjoyed reading, canning and freezing of vegetables from her husbands garden, and helping to make apple dumplings each year at her church. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
In addition to her husband of 66 years and her parents, Mrs. Roadcap was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Mitchell.
Surviving are two sons, Steven P. Roadcap and his wife Denise of Fishersville and David L. Roadcap and his wife Cindy of Verona; a daughter, Barbara (Roadcap) Dedrick and her husband Phil of Churchville; a brother, Hughes Mitchell and his wife Betty of Verona; a sister, Mildred Kiser and her husband Johnny of Staunton; a very special sister-in-law, Mrs. Jean (Roadcap) Cox of Staunton; four grandchildren, David W. Roadcap, Dustin P. Dedrick and his wife Carrie, Corbin M. Dedrick and his wife Vilma, and Jamie N. Curley; two great-grandchildren, Eli Curley and Emmanuella Joy Dedrick; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of David and Cindy Roadcap, 72 Old Laurel Hill Road, Verona.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Oaklawn Memory Gardens by Rev. Bill Davis, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Verona United Methodist Church by Rev. Robert Weeks and Rev. Jeff Allen.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
The family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to the nursing staff at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center for the special care given to Mrs. Roadcap during her illness.
