Louise (McDanald) Kiracofe, 104, widow of Walter Caleb Kiracofe passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Kiracofe was born on February 9, 1912 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Edward B. and Emily (Baker) McDanald.

Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and also attended Memorial Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Mary Baldwin and later received her Masters from the University of Michigan. Mrs. Kiracofe retired in 1994 from the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind where she taught music. For thirty-seven years she played the organ for the First Presbyterian Church. She also played at Massanetta Springs for Bible conferences and music camps and for the Ruritan Club, the Staunton Choral Society and other organizations throughout Augusta County In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kiracofe was preceded in death by a daughter, Gratia Ann (Kiracofe) Ridge.

Surviving is a son, Richard Kiracofe and his wife Julie of Mt. Solon; two grandchildren, Kristina (Kiracofe) Harwood and her husband Ed of Middle River, MD and Kendra (Kiracofe) and her husband Josh Lombardi of Staunton; and four great-grandchildren, Karius Kiracofe, Kaleb Kiracofe, Hana Harwood and Hallie Harwood also survive.

A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Memorial Baptist Church by the Revs Mark W. Jones and Temple D. Myers.

A private graveside was held in the Emmanuel Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Sangersville.
