Louis George Lou Lamoreaux, Sr. 79, widower of Georgia (Riggleman) Lamoreaux of 21 Harpers Street, passed away, Friday October 16, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Lamoreaux was born on April 9, 1936 in Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ralph G. and Helen M. (Burnhimer) Lamoreaux.
Following his retirement from the FAA, Lou worked at Snowshoe Ski Resort in West Virginia as a lift operator for nineteen years. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, an active member of the Shenandoah VFW Post #8613, where he enjoyed playing cards with his VFW family, and a loving father and husband to his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Lamoreaux was preceded in death by a son, George M. Lamoreaux; two sisters, Shirley Ann Lamoreaux and Emma Jean Lamoreaux and a brother Alan L. Lamoreaux.
Survivors include a son, Louis George Lamoreaux, Jr. and his wife Windy of Grottoes; a daughter, Kimberly K. Lucas and her husband Timothy W. of Grottoes; and two grandsons, Beau L. Lamoreaux and Trevor H. Lamoreaux and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be private at a later date.
