Louale Lou (Harris) Almarode, 75, widow of Danny Hawkins Almarode of 71 Pine Glenn Lane passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Almarode was born on September 28, 1938 in Greenville, a daughter of the late Claude Weldon and Gladys Viola (Painter) Harris.
Lou was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church and faithfully attended Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was retired from Wilson Trucking Company where she was employed in the accounting office/accounts receivable. She was an accomplished artist; painter and Lou enjoyed her family and spending time with her life-long friends.
Mrs. Almarode was a wonderful mother and an amazing grandmother, especially devoted to her granddaughter, Ashlyn whom she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel Lane Almarode and a sister, Judith Claudia Harris.
Survivors include a son, Derek Todd Almarode and wife Cindy W. and their daughter, Ashlyn L. Almarode of Staunton; a brother, Larry L. Harris and wife Jean of Greenville; a sister, Becky H. Guynn of Dunwoody, GA; a brother-in-law, Taylor H. Almarode of Bishopville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at her residence.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Bethel Presbyterian Church by Rev. David Shearer and Pastor Isca Mitchell.
Burial will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Rodney Harris, Ben Edwards, Gary Harris, Ronnie Rohr, Mike Guynn, George Cox, Jim Almarode and Wayne Swisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Wilson Trucking Company and cousins attending the service.
