Loretta Jane (Rowe) Staton, 68, wife of Wade Andrew Staton of 518 Baltimore Avenue passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mrs. Staton was born January 2, 1946 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Lester and Frances Irene (Jordan) Rowe.
Loretta retired from Genesco-L-Grief in 1994 where she worked for twenty years as a seamstress. She enjoyed the outdoors, she liked to camp and loved every minute she could spend with her grandchildren. Mrs. Staton had a smile that was contagious.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Staton was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Engleman.
Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty years, are two daughters, Kathy S. Knight and her husband Michael of Waynesboro and Tammy S. Harris and her husband Daniel of Fishersville; a sister, Glenda Powell and her husband Steward of Staunton; six grandchildren, Tyler Knight, Seth Knight, Kristy Knight, Kasey Knight, Courtney (Harris) Smith and her husband Jeremy and Caleb Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
A Celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Randell Black.
Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Seth Knight, Tyler Knight, Daniel Harris, Steward Powell, Jeremy Smith and Kirby Arbogast.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Richmond, VA 23060.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
