Lorene E. Miles
STAUNTON
Lorene Edna Tinkerbell (Taliaferro) Miles, 74, widow of Harold Leon Miles, Sr. of 40 East Gay Street passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Miles was born March 31, 1936 in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Carl Arthur Frenchie and Lorena (Stogdale) Taliaferro.
She was retired from Best Western where she was employed as Office Manager for twelve years and was a member of the Linden Heights Baptist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Miles were foster parents for People Places and raised many foster children over the years. It is impossible to name all the lives they have touched. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She gave so much. She loved and was loved by her family and so many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Robertson, two sisters-in-law, Bonnie M. Wiseman and Wilma M. Miles.
Surviving are her five sons and a daughter in-law, Harold L. Miles, Jr. and his wife Susie, Scott Bradley Miles and Dale Gangaware all of Staunton, Ronald Joseph Moore, II of Arizona and Phillip Johnson of Missouri; two daughters, Bertie Sugar Robertson of Nashville, TN and Debra D.D. Eavers of Staunton; a sister Bertie Ellen Aunt Tootie Ross of Durham, NC; five grandchildren, Brandy Robertson, Jeremy Buck Eavers and Anna Eavers, Cassie and Jarred Deaver all of Staunton; a special son-in-law, Clyde Robertson of Crimora; brother-in-law, William Douglas Miles, his wife Gina and their daughter, Ashley Stickley and sister-in-law, Joyce Gail Butterworth all of Staunton. Tink was also survived by very special friends, Doc and Peggy Flint, Moe Dedrick, Kenneth Bright, Phyllis Puss Wilson and Nancy Maclam; a number of nieces and nephews, Kathy Hoffman, Aaron Wiseman and their children of Jacksonville, NC, Brandy Smith, Sherry Morris, Stephanie Wiseman and their children of Staunton and her pet boxer Bo also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 15,2010 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David Anderson.
Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service or at her residence at other times.
