Lloyd Jr. McAllister, Jr., 75, of 338 Mary Gray Lane, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. McAllister was born October 9, 1938 in Charlottesville, a son of the late Lloyd McAllister, Sr. and the late Clara L. Kidd.
Jr. enjoyed going out for coffee, spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, playing horse shoes and pool, and listening to country music.
Mr. McAllister is survived by a son; Lloyd McAllister, III and his wife Brandi; two daughters, Penny Kidd and husband Sam, and Elizabeth Lisa Thorn and husband Ronald, Sr., all of Staunton; and the mother of his children, Frances Brock of Crimora; a brother; Roy McAllister of Midlothian; a sister Nancy Hensley and husband Russell of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Chris and Cherokee; one great grandchild, Kimberly; and a niece and a nephew.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Jr.s Life from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, and nurses at Augusta Health for the care and compassion given to Mr. McAllister.
