Linda Rae (Garner) Proulex, 61 wife of Connie Melvin Proulex of 1002 Henderson Street, died Thursday, (November 20, 2008) in the Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville.
She was born in Chase City, Virginia on October 12, 1947 a daughter of the late C. Lawson, Sr. and Dorothy (Valentine) Garner.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Proulex was preceded in death by a brother, James V. Garner.
Mrs. Proulex was a member of Third Presbyterian Church where she was active in many of the church ministries including the choir, womens groups and the Sunday school programs. Linda was employed at Staunton Steam Laundry for 10 years and for many years she was a volunteer at the Valley Mission helping those in need.
In addition to her husband of 36 years survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Jennifer Lynn Keyes and her husband William, Jr. of Waynesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, C.L. Garner, Jr. and his wife Dora W. of Chase City, Virginia; a sister and brother-in-law, Mrs. Jo Ann G. Wagstaff and her husband Robert A. of Pittsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Dhayd, Nathaniel Gage and Destiny Lynn Keyes.
A memorial service will be held at Third Presbyterian Church with a date and time to be announced.
