Linda Kaye (Meeks) Carter, 65, of Spring Crest Lane, Staunton passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Carter was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 11, 1954 the daughter of the late Francis and Marilyn (Hanks) Meeks.
Linda was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Staunton Moose. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, the beach, cooking, watching birds, and shopping.
Surviving is a daughter, Jenny Surratt of Stuarts Draft; four brothers, Ray and Gary Meeks of Arizona, David Meeks of Indiana, and Tony Meeks of Ohio; former husband and friend, Granville Carter of Stuarts Draft; and granddaughter, Shyann Sorrells and her husband Dylan.
A Celebration of life will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Lucas Cook.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton, is in charge of her arrangements.
