Lewis Pauly Burns, 93, widower of Erma Lillion (Sensabaugh) Burns, of Swoope, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.
Mr. Burns was born in Churchville, Virginia, on December 22, 1932, a son of the late Stephen Kenneth Burns, Sr. and Martha Virginia (Raines) Burns.
Lewis retired from McQuay and was an active member of Buffalo Gap Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed farming and was a founding member of the Buffalo Gap Ruritan Club.
In addition to his parents, and his wife, Mr. Burns was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen Kenneth Burns, Jr. and Samuel Newton Burns, Sr.
Surviving, is a sister, Sandra Kaye (Burns) McDaniels; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Those desiring may pay their respects from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Thornrose Cemetery by Pastor Gwen Carr.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
