Leroy Jerome Smith, 64, of 2620 Locust Avenue, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Smith was born on November 8, 1953 in Staunton, a son of the late Taylor and Dolores (Harris) Smith.

Leroy was an artist, loved nature, and enjoyed photography. He was an excellent chef and was always cooking for his family and friends. Leroy was always joking and loved to make others laugh. He was a great Dad and friend and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded by a grandson, Mion Venable.

Surviving are his children, Terrence L. Smith (Bethany), Arlanda Shaw (Toney) and Yulanda Venable; siblings, Larry F. Smith, Taylor Smith, Jr. and wife Joyce, Corrine Wertz, and Brenda Bell; grandchildren, Kianne Jackson, Fabian Henderson, Toneya Shaw, Damion Smith, Kashmere Jenkins and soon-to-be-born, LeeLoo Smith; great-grandchildren, Rahniya Henderson and Kyler Seay; and special friends, Ray and Frank.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
