Leroy 'Jim' Powell's Obituary
Leroy Jim Powell, 76, of 955 Georgetown Street, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Powell was born on February 27, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Clain A. Powell, Sr. and Ida May (Patterson) Powell.
Leroy was a member of the Little River Church of the Brethren. Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed by Newmans Aluminum for nine years and twenty-three years with Landes Wrecking.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Powell was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his fiance, Venita J. McCray of Staunton; a brother, Clain Powell, Jr. of Bells Valley; and two sisters, Mary Martin of Goshen and Lillie Cobb of Staunton.
All services are private with burial in Bells Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
