Leonard Franklin "Frankie" Marcum, Sr., 72, of 212 Grubert Avenue, Staunton, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Marcum was born in Staunton, Virginia on December 25, 1948, a son of the late John Lincoln and Virginia (Helmick) Marcum.
Frankie was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Plecker Construction as a truck driver. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, wrestling, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Marcum was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Franklin "Bubba" Marcum, Jr.
Surviving is a son, William Martin "Will" Bodkin and his wife Siobhan of Staunton; his partner of forty-five years, Kim M. Bodkin of Staunton; granddaughter, Alaysia Bodkin; step-grandson, Dyllon Ward; a brother, John Thomas Marcum of Staunton; a sister, Janie (Marcum) Fitzgerald of Fishersville; best friend of fifty-three years, Pete Fitzgerald of Staunton; and his pet cat, "Shadow".
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Faith Christian Church by Pastor Warren Knott. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow the service in Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Shane Fitzgerald, Scott Fitzgerald, Joey Fitzgerald, Alfie Knott, David Loyd, and Victor Douglas.
