Lenna Rachel (Dunlap) Brown, 92, widow of Roy F. Brown of 2270 Parkersburg Turnpike passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
Mrs. Brown was born on October 17, 1921 in Swoope, a daughter of the late William Wilson Dunlap, Sr. and Lenna (Hamilton) Dunlap.
Rachel was a life time member and the oldest member of the Hebron Presbyterian Church. She liked to read and crochet.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Wilson Brown and William Edward Brown; and a brother, Bill Dunlap, Jr.
Mrs. Brown is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a son, Danny Brown and his wife Debbie of Mt. Solon; two daughters, Linda Brown of Swoope and Mary Gail Pryor of Troy; a sister-in-law, Mabel Dunlap of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren, Timothy Daniel Brown and his fianc Jessica Dombrowski, Eric Michael Brown and his wife Ashley and Terese Annette Gregory and her husband Derrick all of Mt. Solon; three
great-grandchildren, Brendon Brown, Landon Gregory and Annabel Gregory; and a nephew, Dr. Jim Dunlap.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Coffman Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. by Pastor Frank Wyche.
The family will also receive friends at other times at the residence.
Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Hebron Memorial Fund, 423 Hebron Road, Staunton, VA 24401 or Talking Book Center at Staunton Public Library, 1 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, VA 24401.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
