Leland Foster Brown, Jr., 88, devoted husband of Doris Hale Brown, of 705 Fisher Circle, Staunton, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Junior was born on April 4, 1938, in Afton, Virginia, a son of the late Leland Foster Brown, Sr. and Bertie Miller Brown.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 49 years is a son, Kevin Wayne Brown (Keith) of Waynesboro, VA; a son, Robin Lee Brown of Harriston, VA; a daughter, Shara Lynn Brown (Johnathan) of Crimora, VA; a step-daughter, Charlene “Charlie” Pitsenbarger (Rusty Shaw) of Lakemont, GA; one grandson, Russell Spencer Shaw, Coast Guard, Atlantic City, NJ; a devoted nephew, Dr. Fontaine Fox (Karen); a cousin (Brother Bond), William Miller (Margo) of Afton, VA; and two lifetime friends, Tom Marcum and Freddie Floyd of Staunton, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, MaryAnna Fox (Fontaine) of Richmond, VA; a sister, Sarah Henderson (James) of Concord, VA; and a brother, Robert Miller Brown of New Castle, VA.
Junior was an active member of Linden Heights Baptist Church and the Path Finders Sunday School Class. He held a special bond with teacher, Doug Hall. He served with the Brotherhood, Buildings and Grounds, Bereavement Committee and wherever needed.
Junior enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and having friends over for dinner and playing Rook.
Those desiring to pay their respects may visit Coffman Funeral Home between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Linden Heights Baptist Church, Staunton, Virginia followed by interment at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Staunton, Virginia. Family will receive friends following the service at the Bereavement Meal.
Active Pallbearers will be the Linden Heights Baptist Church Brotherhood.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions may donate to the Food Pantry of Linden Heights Baptist Church.
