Larry Curtis Helmick, 75, widower of Agnes Lou (Boyd) Helmick of 720 Bull Run, Staunton, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Helmick was born in Staunton, Virginia on June 2, 1945, a son of the late Edward and Kathleen (Chandler) Helmick.
Larry was retired with twenty-nine years of service from A.S.R. He enjoyed buying and selling Corvettes and collecting antiques.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Lee Helmick.
Surviving is a daughter, Tania H. Kincaid and her husband Jarred of Verona; a step-son, Mike Gonzalez and his wife Debbie of Gainesville, Florida; a step-daughter, Diane Ruleman and her husband Victor of Deerfield; a brother, Charles "Ernie" Helmick and his wife Marcy of Lake City, Florida; a sister, Loretta H. Grimm and her husband Dennis of Staunton; five grandchildren, Ben Demory and his wife Tasha, April Strickler and her husband Brian, Nathan and Kristen Rexrode and Lanie Gonzalez; five great-grandchildren, Reese Strickler, Jacob Puffenbarger, and Taylor, Camden, and Parker Rexrode; a special nephew, B.J. Waitier and wife Michele, additional nephews, Kevin and Brian Helmick; a niece, Ginia Waitier; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2020 in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 in Augusta Memorial Park by Pastor Larry Strickler.
Active pallbearers will be Larry's special friends Mike Stoher, Kevin and Mike Lacey, Ronnie Truxell, Buck Brown, Phil Kania, and Jerry Roberts.
