Larry Allen Balser, Sr., 63, husband of Mary Frances (Sweet) Balser, of 193 West Augusta Road, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

Mr. Balser was born June 11, 1951 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Carl Monroe and Clara Jinive (Jackson) Balser Woods.

Larry worked in construction. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Balser was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte E. (Balser) Woods and a half-brother, Clarence Edward Woods.

Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-three years, are two sons, Larry Allen Balser, Jr. and his wife Elissa Kay of Frost Proof, FL and Master Sergeant Carl Wilson Balser of Panama City, FL; two daughters, Mary Ellen Burgandine and her husband Shannon of Deerfield and Tammy Marie Balser of West Augusta; two brothers, Carl Sonny Balser of Stony Creek, VA and Wilburt Junior Balser of New Hope; two sisters, Betty Harris of Swoope and Judy M. Peters of Staunton; a half-brother, Roger Woods of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Ashley Marie Burgandine, Anthony Lee Burgandine, Autumn LeAnn Balser, Hunter Everet Meadows and Cami Angelina Balser.
