Kurt Barry Heeps, 78, husband of Donna Marie (Ratliff) Heeps, of Verona, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Heeps was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on January 16, 1948, son of the late Kermit Heeps and Kathryn (Desch) Heeps.

Kurt graduated from Whittenburg University College in Springfield, Ohio where he met and married his wife, Donna. They moved to Pennsylvania for a brief time and later to Flagstaff, Arizona.

In 1990, they moved to Augusta County where they have made their home. He was retired from Kroger as a meat cutter and together with his wife, they enjoyed taking walks in nature and spending time traveling.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 55 years, is a sister, Karla Heeps of Denver, Colorado; a niece, Debbie Patton; a nephew Gary Clay and numerous other nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no services.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
