Kermit Ellis Roberts, 78, husband of Ellen Frances (Bird) Roberts of Churchville, Virginia passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Albemarle Health and Rehab in Charlottesville.
Mr. Roberts was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 27, 1946, a son of the late Ellis Howard Roberts and Vada Mae (Pirkey) Roberts.
Kermit was a member of Elk Run Covenant Brethren Church, he enjoyed farming, had a strong work ethic and was a self-employed barber.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Roberts and a sister, Joyce Wood.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years, is a son, Kermit Ellis "K.E." Roberts and his companion, Joni of Verona; a daughter, Dawn Marie Roberts of Earlysville; a brother, Clarence Roberts and his wife, Jean of Charlottesville; a brother-in-law, Carlton Wood of Earlysville; two grandchildren, Heather Michelle Roberts and Brittney Renee` (Roberts) Marshall and her husband, Brian; three great- grandchildren, Ashton, Maleah "MiMi" and Lilith; a special nephew, Dwayne Wood and his wife, Kim; and his fur-baby, "Pepe`."
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jonathan Farmer.
Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Earlysville, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Garland Faulconer, Anthony Wood, George "Poss" Marshall, Jimmy Armstrong, Wendall McDaniel, and Jamie Morris.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
