Obituary

Kenneth Jennings Tooter Amick, 82, husband of Geraldine Faye Gerry (Bailes) Amick of 304 Whitehall Avenue, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Amick was born on September 3, 1934, in Rupert, West Virginia, a son of the late Perry John, Sr. and Edith Florence (Flanagan) Amick.
Ken was an active member and trustee of the Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church. Following his retirement from Smiths Transfer in 1998 with 23 years of service, Mr. Amick drove for Houff Transfer for thirteen years. Ken was a faithful servant of God and family and he will be remembered as Jack of all Trades and Master of None.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Amick was preceded in death by a brother, Perry John Amick, Jr.; a sister, Sandra Lynch and two infant sisters.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-five years, is a son, Kenny V. Amick of Staunton; two daughters, Diana L. Amick of Staunton and Donna L. (Amick) Lawson and her husband Randall of Verona; four sisters, Pat Bailey of Staunton, Linda PeeWee Boyce of Amissville, Virginia, Sharon Sherry Dodrill of Houston, Texas and Kathy Mikie Miller-Levisay, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Cole and husband David and Randi Lee Griffin and husband Nappy; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt Griffin, Sadie Cole, Waylon Griffin, Silas Cole and Walter Griffin; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
An Open House Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at the residence.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942,

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive, Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.


A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Jerusaleum Chapel by Pastor Denny Sites and Pastor Dave Dakin, for Kenneth Jennings Tooter Amick, who passed away on December 6, 2016 and Geraldine Faye Gerry (Bailes) Amick who passed away on December 16, 2016.
