Kenneth Thuel K.T. Fitzgerald, 59, of 32 Highland Hill Lane passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Fitzgerald was born September 17, 1954 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Sterling Thuel Bunk and Helen Virginia (Fitzgerald) Fitzgerald.
K.T. was a member of the Staunton Seventh-Day Adventist Church and retired in December of 2013 from Nibco after thirty-eight years of service as a machine operator. He enjoyed collecting coins and riding and watching trains.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Wood.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonya R. Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft and Laura M. Fitzgerald and her companion Jessica Louk of Greenville; the mother of his children, Debra A. Yowell of Greenville; a brother, Waymond Wood; four sisters, Carolyn W. Belcher, G. Jean W. Banks and Ann W. Helms all of Meadows of Dan and Lynn F. Dalton of Lynchburg; his special girl who was like a granddaughter, Alethia Tisdale; and a number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
A Celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Staunton Seventh-Day Adventist Church by Pastor Daniel V. Darrikhuma.
Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Bill Banks, Josh Tisdale, Richard Helms, Woody Yowell, Tony Tisdale, C.J. Poore and Dustin Fitzgerald.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or the Childrens Miracle Network 1906 Belleview Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24014.
