Kenneth Richard Knott, 76, widower of Jane (Wheeler) Knott of 70 Breezewood Drive, passed away Thursday, (December 17, 2009) at his residence.
Richard was born on November 18, 1933 in Augusta County a son of the late Francis Grover Cleveland and Cliffie Cleo (Huffer) Knott.
Mr. Knott retired from Thornrose Cemetery as a care-taker on the cemetery grounds, he enjoyed hunting and taking pictures.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Knott was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary F. Altizer.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie M. Woods
and Barbara J. Scott and her husband Wesley W. all of Staunton; two brothers, Boyd Knott and Dale Knott of Mt. Solon; two sisters, Lola Morrison of Mt. Solon and Mae Arviole of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Mary V. Altizer, Ronald G. Altizer, Trampus Woods, Amanda Mason, Wilbert K. Balser and Stephanie Balser; eighteen great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., today, December 27, 2009 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Golden C. Clark, Jr.
The family will receive friends following the service.
