Kenneth Steven "Kenny" Freshour, 74, husband of Bonnie Jean (Tolley) Freshour of Roth Road, Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his father-in-law's residence in Steeles Tavern.

Mr. Freshour was born in Hickory, North Carolina on February 1, 1949, a son of the late Sherman Perry Freshour, Sr. and Unive Frances (Freeman) Freshour.

Kenny was a member of Walkers Creek Community Church and retired with twenty-five years of service from Augusta Correctional Center as an officer. Following retirement, he was employed at Middle River Regional Jail as an officer. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was an avid fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Freshour was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Pat Tolley.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of thirty-three years, is a bother, Sherman Perry "Sonny" Freshour and his girlfriend, Diane Wiggins of Bryson City, NC; a sister, Sharon Jaun Thomas of Richmond; his father-in-law, Marion Tolley, Jr. of Steeles Tavern; four nieces, Avis, Christina, Allison and Katie; three nephews, Chad, Bryan and David; special cousins, John and Bill Freeman; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Jerry Fisher.

Burial will follow in Old Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Leroy Troxell, David Tolley, Sr., David Tolley, Jr., Chad Freshour, Erik Chambers, and Chase Bryant.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
