Kenneth Wayne Bourne, 81 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at Shenandoah Nursing Rehabilitation, Fishersville, VA.

Born in Bluefield, VA, he was the son of the late Thomas Bourne and Effie Price Bourne.  He was the quarterback of the 1957 undefeated Graham G-Men football and led the state in TD passes in 1957.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Carl, Lewis and William "Bill" Bourne; a sister: Betty Steele; great-grandchild: Carson Dewhurst.

He will be missed by his 3 sons: Rick Wayne Bourne and wife, Mae of Syracuse, OH, David L. Bourne and wife, Karen of Staunton, VA and Keith Bourne and wife, Kimberly of Staunton, VA; sister: Evelyn Warden of Clendenin, WV; grandchildren: Constance Marie Dewhurst and husband, Christopher of Hobe Sound, FL, Ricky Bourne and wife, Crystal of Greensboro, NC, Evan Bourne and wife, Leigh of Stuart's Draft, VA, and Tyler Bourne and wife, Brittany of Staunton, VA; great-grandchildren: Layla Bourne and Heidi Bourne, Declan Bourne, Madelyn, Joshua and Joel Dewhurst; former wife and mother of Kenny's son's: Jean Miller of Bluefield, VA.

A service to celebrate Kenny's life will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel, 729 Virginia Ave
Bluefield, Virginia 24605 with his son, Pastor Rick Bourne officiating.

Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Kelvin Matney, Darryl Cox, Charles Stacy, Rick Alsbrook, Randy Mullins and Jeremy Poszich will serve as pallbearers.

Friends and family will gather on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Dudley Memorial Mortuary from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
