Kay Dennis Smith, 85, husband of Maureen Catherine (O'Regan) Smith, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville.

Mr. Smith was born in Morristown, New Jersey on March 1, 1938, a son of the late Walter Atmore Smith and Laura (Tarbell) Smith.

Kay was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Traveler's Insurance as an underwriter. He attended St. John's Catholic Church in Waynesboro and enjoyed playing tennis and building furniture.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years, is a son, Carroll Matthew Smith of Connecticut; three daughters, Rebecca (Smith) Allen and her husband, David of New Hampshire, Bethann (Smith) Collett and Caroline (Smith) Cooke and her husband, Jon of Connecticut; a sister, Roxanne Walters of California; and four grandchildren, William Allen, Lexington Allen, Carys Collett, and Samuel Cooke.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
