Kay (Robinson) Mader's Obituary

Kay (Robinson) Mader, 72, wife of James Edmund "Jim" Mader of 3500 Morris Mill Road, Staunton passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Mader was born on April 1, 1949 in Staunton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Cecil M. Robinson, Sr. and Frances (Myers) Robinson.

Kay was an active member of the Second Presbyterian Church where she was also employed as Administrative Assistant for over twenty years. She was a member of the Women's Circle of the church and assisted in many behind the scene activities. Kay was previously employed for the City of Staunton and the Staunton Public School system. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, making crafts, and her specialty was making all types of greeting cards for which she was a faithful sender to many. Mrs. Mader will be remembered as a loving, giving, sweet person with a beautiful smile and disposition who was always doing selfless acts of kindness for others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mader was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Carol K. Robinson.

Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty years is a son, Jason S. Mader of Staunton; a brother, Cecil M. "Sonny" Robinson, Jr. of Staunton; two brothers-in-law, Fred Mader and his wife Nancy of Waynesboro and Joe Mader and his wife Linda of Staunton; a special and close niece, Kim Sprouse and her husband Rick; and a number of additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In keeping with Mrs. Mader's wishes there will be no services.

It is suggested those desiring make memorial contributions to Second Presbyterian Church, c/o the Maintenance Fund, Post Office Box 175, Staunton, Virginia 24402.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to her former doctor and friend, Dr. H. Lynn Moore and the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially her nurse, Laura.

Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
